OK, Ellusive has to go out of town Monday for work for 5 weeks, we been shopping all day for laptops... the problem is... they all freaking come with microsoft vista now, so has anyone been able to get it to work with EQ? also does the core 2 duo processor have any problems with eq that anyone knows of? |

ya, duel core is easy, mine works great. the only thing you can do about vista is buy one without an operating system and then buy xp. you will have to order it though and some companies wont sell it without the operating system becuase they put there restore junk on the disk with it. they are out there if you look though. _________________

EQ is working on my Vista computers with no issues. Make sure to fully patch the operating system. Also, if you run into issues, google everquest and Vista and there are a couple of good threads that I looked at to help with the transition.

You could purchase an external harddrive, load Windows XP on it, and have the laptop load from the external first. It will run the OS off the Hard drive along with EQ.
It works.

I just got a new laptop with vista also and the only major problem i had was downloading maps. i also have to right click the Eq icon and run as administrator. I have an HP dv9260 nr with the intel duo core. i can even two box. Mine has NVidia GeForce Go7600 graphics card with 256 dedicted video memory with the 17" screen. also has 2.0 gig hard drive so no major problem. glad you got it working. i'll be on laptop for another week or two then should have my velocity machines back.
