So I've finally realized the reason all my 3D games keep crashing...corrupt memory. But what kind do I get?

DDR?
DDR2?
PC2800, 3600, 48000000?
SDRAM?

I currently have (1) 512 DDRPC3200 and (1) 1G DDR PC3200, though I'm not sure which is corrupt. ( Suppose the smart thing would be to start my comp up with one and then the other).

I've read all types of reviews and I'm still very confused. I'm looking to get about 2G and would like to keep it under $200.

All suggestions are welcomed

I chose my topic very carefully. Ram..memory. I thought it was a witty play on words.

Many computer places have memory testing machines... plug it in and you could find out. Also would identify the type of memory you currently have in your computer.

As for overclocking... good luck. By overclocking a processor, you are lowering its life expectancy by 50%, and stand the risk of a "one shot smoke generator" Some people swear by over-clocking... orthers swear at it.

Overclocking is retarded, if you want better performance format your computer and only install the real basic. You should have a maximum of 1 or 2 icons in your tray, if you are the type of people who have 63463634 shit running at same time someone should come to your house and shot you because you don't know how to use a computer. Also, put alot of cooling fan in your box if its possible, keep it as cold as possible and you win.

Edit : Oh and clean those fans before they weight twice their normal weight because of the dust ><

Don't know if it will help or not but Maelria and I were getting messages about memories problems that was killing EQ on us. After many hours of searching it came down to a simple fix: turn off Windows Update. Bam problem gone and all was well in the world.

Also clean out the inside of that computer. Dust can kill a computer dead with no warning.
