Hi Mandaar and Aet (and other old friends who may read this)!

Life caught up with me after Dragons of Norrath (Spring of 2005)...I was (and still am): happily married, father of three, and have ever growing work committments = No time left for EQ.

After DoN was released, I was off and on active/inactive on AD's roster (late spring 2005) and raided only sporatically during the summer of 2005, trying unsuccessfully to juggle life around our raid times and the ever-increasing time requirements to stay current with the new content.

By September, I knew it was time to retire but I just didn't have the heart to officially do it - Righteous was my first and only toon (created in Kunark era - Late 2000)... I wrestled with when and how to make a retirement post - delayed, delayed, delayed, then Lurked, Lurked, Lurked...then, after not logging in for several months, around Dec of 2005, I logged Righteous in for one last night.

I mounted my horse "Fury" and began my last journey on Norrath. I rode through most of Antonica, Kunark, and Velius, fondly remembering the long gone days when zones like Commons and Freeport were filled with people, and every day was a new adventure to be shared with friends. I said goodbye to any and all AD I could find along the way.

After about 3 hours, I headed for my birth home in Felwithe, found a quiet spot by the water, said a last goodbye to my faithful companion "Fury" and logged off Righteous for the last time.

Righteous completed the journey to the sacred halls of his fathers, with the knowledge that he faithfully served the Most High throughout his days on Norrath.

The account was retired - started and finished by me (no ebay, etc.)

I'm not sure what the retirement experience of other EQ players is, but it was a very emotional process for me (and my wife tells me I am not given to much sentiment!).

So...to all my AD family - thank you for an amazing experience! Of my 5 years in EQ, the last 3.5 were with AD - my one and only raiding guild.

To this day, I very much cherish the memories of our shared adventures, our successes and challenges, and above all the privilege of being part of such a fellowship of friends!

These posts make me sad. I can't imagine logging off for the last time.

Too much history. Hell I can barely watch "Sayonara Norrath" as it is.

If it helps, our raid schedule is a lot easier now.

We don't raid Friday's and you only need 50 percent RA =D.

But, regardless, thanks for checking in. Feel free to log in and we will take you on a guest run of all the content we do, just for old times sake. No commitment, just a visit (this offer excludes Solteris since it needs all hands).
