"As many as 20 percent of teens and preteens play the game, "
...i've never heard of it and my friends have never mentioned such a thing
as they say, 95% of statistics are made up, including this one |

Shit was around when I was a kid.
Every once in a while you'd read about some kid doing something unfortunate. 80 kids?
Can you see the advertisements for this?
<Dramatic Music and a father wrestling with nervousness>
Son....
Yes dad?
I ... I want to talk to you about hanging yourself in the closet until you see spots.
Okay dad...
Jokes aside, it's really depressing that anyone would risk such a thing. |

When I seen on the news that a kid had died in our local area (went to school with my kids) bout a year ago from this....I sat my boys down and talked to them about it. Both had already heard of "the game" and both my children thought it was something really stupid to do. They had told me about alot of different stupid stuff kids do these days. Alot of parents these days dont take the time to sit down with their kids and have an open relationship with them so they can talk about anything and ask stuff without being critized. I really dont see the point in trying to shelter kids from the real world....talk to them....find out their reaction....and by all means LISTEN to what they have to say about stuff. I am glad my boys talk to me and understand they dont have to participate in this kinda of thing to be considered "cool" or be a part of the "in crowd". |
