get sattelite, you have the option in the utility to connect via sat or exclusively through the modem, this way you can surf and/or download at max speed, then disconnect/reconnect with the modem only _________________

Spent 2 hours driving around yesterday...
borrowed a laptop and loaded EQ onto it
Then went and found a nice Wi-Fi connection.
Got home at 2am and ma now working on transferring all the files over to Mac and my computers.
Have looked into satellite internet for EQ and was told the latency would cause LDs often. Knew one person in EQ who did go through the expense of getting satellite .. they could not play in EQ and after trying for 3 months sadly they left the game. EQ horror stories by folks who used satellite
