Went and ordered my new comp, got a good deal from Dell, suprisingly good actually, to the point, I am wondering if I got duped somehow. So like umm it's shipping Monday, then add 3-5 days for delivery, then a day or two to setup, install everything, download 5 years worth of updates etc, I should be good to go in about 2 weeks.

That is of course I don't do something more productive like roll up stake, drive to Tijuana and start my own brothel. I give that a 50/50 chance.

If you have a geek stick....ie memory stisk you could transfer all EQ files including UI to new puter saving you a week....or while you are at it just save everything to DVD or CD incase a crash happens or you have to do a reinstall.....then you will only have to download a faw small patches compared to all the BS

Have an External HD with more than enough space. But still, think of all that DLing fun.

what he's saying nerple is that you can move the entire EQ directory to your external hard drive.

then when you get your new comp, all you will have to do is create a new shortcut.

or copy them all back and create a new shortcut.

which ever way makes you happier. then all the files are updated and you don't have to re-install.

I know what he was saying. I'm saying it's an exhilirating time, watching the clock on the patcher go down, that I could easily spend hours doing that instead.

Or you could take out your old harddisk, set it to slave, and transfer eq directory that way! Your gigs of tranny porn would be safe then too.
