Was just sitting here on a Friday afternoon. All the fires are out, I'm not up to starting any more coding and I've stared out the window all I can and I just got to thinking about all the games I've played.

Then I thought, it's interesteing that my favorites are not the most cutting edge by any stretch. So I thought I'd see how other's viewed their own list.

What is YOUR top 10 games that you have gotten the MOST fun out of. Not just "wow that's really a cool game I played once", but which games all told did you get the most fun out of?

Here's my list mostly in order:

1. Everquest
2. Civilization 2
3. Baldur's Gate 2
4. Heroes of Might and Magic 2
5. Might and Magic 6 (my first rpg, this probably should be higher honestly).
6. Team Fortress Classic
7. Anarchy Online
8. Jedi Knight
9. Diablo 2 (Its just addictive as hell for bursts)
10. Probably WoW if I count up hours. I played it a TON for 2 months then walked away because it became too easy and too boring.

Close runners up:
Dungeon Keeper
Age of Mythology
Master of Orion 2
Both Half Lifes
Quake (the original)

1. EQ
2. Daggerfall
3. Baldur's Gate 2
4. Morrowind and its constuction set.
5. Quake 1 & 2 (weapons of mass destruction mod anyone?)
6. Zelda 1 and 2
7. Impossible Mission (for commodore 64, Get them my robots!)
8. Rainbow 6
9. Hitman series
10. Oblivion and its construction set.

As you can see I really like the Elder Scrolls series. The scope of each world has always blown me away. The world size of Daggerfall STILL blows me away... its like 1000000 times bigger than EQ. Although made on an engine, and the bad guys look like movie poster boards, this game was my 1st large scale rpg and I was hooked immediately. Now each ES game comes with a construction set so that you can add to their world. Admittedly some of their content is lame, but the editor makes the entire series now.

Rainbow 6 and Baldur's Gate 2 were the 1st games I played online. My handle on R6 was Captain Hero Man (Drawn Together stole this name lol) and I loved the co-op mode, as well as the teams mode. Baldur's Gate 2 had the best content of any game I had seen probably until Depths of Darkhollow in EQ (complex events, more straight forward than just hack slash and heal like old EQ).

The Quake's.. oh man. Those games were a lot of fun, especially co-op mode in Q2. I spent many months playing these games.

Impossible Mission -- this game was the 1st puzzle solving exploration game I ever played. It was fun as hell.

All of the Hitman missions I have played are extremely well thought out and I always play a map until I have beat it nearly every way devised. Pushing the limits of what the game was designed to do is always fun, and Hitman will let you do things that will make your heart race and your mind twinge. Agent 47, this is Dianna.

I have wanted to love the Elder Scrolls series more than anyone. And I tried.

Daggerfall was just too old when I got into it. Morrowind was a great world, the best of the series, but too easy quickly and combat was lifeless (along with the world itself).

Oblivion has the best mechanics of any RPG I ever played, but the world was made TINY and the pace was too frantic.

If they can combine Morrowind and Oblivion with a touch of Daggerfall's scope - sign me up.

But if will never happen. Elder Scrolls is a console series now with all the blandness that entails.

Age of empires 2: Conquerors (Best game ever!)
EQ
AoE 2: Kings
Final Fantasy series
Diablo
Age of Mythology (Pretty limited, not massive like AoE2)
Civ 1
NHL series
Street Fighter

I had the most fun on AoE2, just so much strategy (I was into it for a couple years lol). Games were fast and very competitive. Very disappointed with AoE3 though.

Eq is the first MMORPG that i have ever played, since I started, but since then i have to say my list would be as follows:

Virtual Villagers
EQ2
EQ
Guild Wars
The Sims (i have all of them but the online version)
Zoo Tycoon
Hotel
CSI
WOW (which really sucked i thought and never got beyond lvl 13ish)

that pretty much sums up my gaming experience except for Nintendo, PS, PS2 and atari....

Yeah aev, R&R racing was one of the best, I remember playing that at my best friends house till the wee hours. That bastard always kept his first truck and max out the oil barrel dumping thing asap and made my life miserable.

And seeing your post I forgot about AoE2! That was seriously the best RTS i've played, had so much fun with that. My race was the Teutons!
